RGVHSA SPEED SHOW RULES
1.  Show committee reserves the right to remove any unruly horse or abusive owner/exhibitor from the show
grounds for the safety of all.   
2.  Entry fees are non-refundable.
3.  No class changes will be accepted less than three classes prior.
4.  AQHA rules will apply where applicable.  
5.  Any protests must be accompanied by $250.00, to be refunded if protest is validated by show committee.
6.  8 and under can either run or trot the event
7.  The two minute gate rule will be strictly adhered to except for tack changes which MUST be approved
prior to the start of the show.  The participant is responsible for being at the gate ready one class prior.  
8.  Knock overs result in a 5 second penalty per knock over.
9.  Show committee reserves the right to change breaks as needed to keep the show moving.
10. An original negative Coggins is required for entry to show grounds and show.
11. Show committee reserves the right to combine or drop classes where there are 3 or less horses  in a
class.
12.  Exhibition charges $5.00 per run will apply.
13.  Numbers will be used all season.  Lost numbers will cost $10.00 to replace.  Each horse/rider
combination must have separate number.

Point System
We will be using the following simple point system.
In Class   1st    2nd    3rd    4th    5th    6th

Points will be awarded through 6th place.   Each participant in the class will receive one participant point.

Participants need to keep track of their own points.   The Points Secretary will endeavor to post a points
sheet after the completion of each class if possible.   PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE
CONTINUALLY ASKING ABOUT YOUR POINTS!

All classes except those designated will count toward year end High Point Awards.

hackamores will be allowed.
5.  Show committee reserves the right to cancel or combine classes with three or fewer entries.
6.  Any protests must be accompanied by $250.00, to be refunded if protest is validated by show committee.
7.  Novice horse/novice rider may never have participated in a canter class at any performance show.  May
not have earned more than six blue ribbons.  Participant may not cross enter canter class.  Novice
horse/rider may only be in novice for one show season.
8.  Walk/Trot participants may not cross enter canter classes.   Open walk/trot or walk/jog participants must
compete in one halter division class to qualify for Walk/Trot  year end High Point
9.  The two minute gate rule will be strictly adhered to except for tack changes which MUST be approved
prior to the start of the show.  The participant is responsible for being at the gate ready one class prior.  
Once the gate is closed, no participants will be allowed to enter.
10. Trail Classes will abide by 2 minute obstacle/2 time obstacle refusal rules.
11. To speed up the show, all horses in rail classes will back up on the rail, not in lineup.
